Default Item type
How to select the initial Items or Service value for a new card.
In the Default Items type field, select Item or Service. This value will be pre-selected when opening a new Item record.
Select Item if you primarily create stocked Items where balances, reservations, Goods Receipts, and Stock Write-offs are important. Select Service if most new records do not have a physical quantity in stock.
This setting does not affect cards that have already been created. It merely determines the initial value for the new form, though the team member can change it if they have the necessary permissions.
After changing the setting, open the new Items form and ensure the correct type is selected. It is particularly important not to leave the Service type selected for a physical Item, as warehouse processes may not function as expected.
